Distinguished Military and Legal Career

Grace M. Uzomba served over 20 years in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps as a medical logistics officer, working to improve medical equipment maintenance and supply delivery for service members worldwide. After retiring, she attended St. Mary’s University School of Law, co-founding the Center for Terrorism Law to safeguard civil liberties while addressing security needs. Motivated by a commitment to fair justice, she ran for and became the first woman and first African American Judge of County Court at Law No. 2 in Bexar County, which handled both civil and criminal cases. During her tenure, she launched programs to help probationers and pre-trial defendants succeed and was the first to hire a voice recording court reporter in Bexar County.

A CONCISE AND COMPELLING SUMMARY OF MY POLITICAL POSITION:

Governance for the people by the people. Our system of justice can change the world and it is emulated.  Thus, when we look at ourselves closely and honestly, I believe we would all see and agree that we all need Justice, Mercy and a measurable amount of unmerited Grace.

As your Judge in the 224th District Court (Civil), I will be able to use my diverse experiences, training and education to ensure that the citizens of Bexar County are listened to; heard; and feel that they have been treated fairly and with respect.

I am profoundly grateful and recognize our educators, veterans and first responders as the heroes who have shaped our minds, secured our way of life and protected and served us bravely without reservation.
